As the fall out of sequestration hits both government and industry, uncertainty continues to loom over which cuts will occur, where they will be isolated and who will be affected.

Stu Shea on SAIC’s Promotion of Robert Logan to CIO for the Natl Security, Health Spinoff

Robert Logan

Robert Logan has been named CIO at SAIC and will serve in the same position at the company’s future national security, health and engineering business, Leidos.

He transitions from his role as director of engineering for IT services, where he oversaw the company’s cloud infrastructure and migration of enterprise IT functions for the company’s impending separation.

Leidos, said Logan has played a large role in helping SAIC upgrade its IT functions and infrastructure.

Logan is a former Marine Corps officer who received a “Premier 100 IT Leaders Award” from Computerworld in 2007 for his infrastructure upgrade work.

Gary Slack Elevates to QinetiQ NA President and COO

Gary Slack

Gary Slack has been promoted to president and COO of QinetiQ NA from his role as EVP and CFO, which he assumed in August 2012.

He currently holds the interim CFO title and continues to lead finance and accounting functions in addition to his new responsibilities.

Before joining the Reston, Va.-based firm, Slack worked at BAE Systems for 13 years where he most recently led the company’s 9,000-employee U.S. combat systems business.

Slack has also previously served as group finance director for TRW and has held positions at BDM International, Honeywell Federal Systems and the Virginia Department of Taxation.

Agilex Names VA Vet Roger Baker Chief Strategy Officer

Roger Baker

Roger Baker has been appointed chief strategy officer at Agilex Technologies, where he will be responsible for helping grow the Chantilly, Va.-based firm’s presence in the government market.

He most recently served as CIO at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he pushed for increased use of open source software and mobile devices for healthcare programs.

Baker said organizations need to view IT as a key to success in today’s financial climate and Agilex adopts emerging technologies such as agile software and mobile devices.

Baker’s career in the private sector includes service as CEO at Dataline LLC, as CIO for General Dynamics’ IT business unit and a general manager position at CACI.

Max Hall on SRA’s Appointment of Bryan Martin to Cyber, Privacy VP

Bryan Martin

Bryan Martin has joined Fairfax-based SRA as VP of cybersecurity and privacy, where he will be responsible for developing cyber analysts and engineers and executing programs.

The 20-year technology vet will also work with Richard Clarke, executive adviser for cybersecurity, to formulate the unit’s strategic vision and identify new offerings.

“It is a top priority for SRA to continue to make key investments in our cybersecurity capabilities,” said Max Hall, EVP and CGO.

Martin previously served as chief technology officer for ManTech’s mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group and led the development of the company’s cybersecurity strategy.
